Hello from England!

Welcome to my blog!
We are a christian family living in the Sunshine state (before that we spent four years in England and two years in Turkey).

My posts are of everyday life and my love of crafting. I hope to inspire you in some way to share your talents too.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment.
Cheers and God's blessings to you and yours!

Drying off...

I finally did it and made my first burlap wreath!  Here is a photo of it hanging on my front door.  I'm pleased with how it turned out and it is easier to do that it appears.  Yeah for easy!

I promised a purse photo a couple of posts back, but for the life of me cannot find them.  It's very frustrating...my apologies!

Here are some cards I made using my Big Shot and embossing folders.  I love the ease of using these tools for instant results.

Two of these cards were mailed to special people.  I hope they enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making them!

Back to hunting for those purse photos...after we dry out from all the rain we had in the panhandle yesterday!  We we under a flash flood for a while, but thankfully today it isn't raining so the waters can recede.  The kids both let me know they had no choice but to walk in deep puddles to get home from their bus stops.  You know what that means?  Wet stinky teenager shoes - two pairs no less!  Please send me suggestions to dry them.  I'm all ears!
Hmmm, maybe I should invest in a canoe...

Sometimes we have rough patches in life.  It's inevitable.  There are challenges, stresses...life happens.  But I just want to remind all those out there reading this that there are incredibly joyous times too.  There's hope, love, and most importantly, the opportunity to have a relationship with our Lord.
If you're not a person of prayer, I give you a monthly challenge:  Pray AT LEAST once a day, talk with your Lord who loves you so much.  He longs for that relationship and time with you with as minimal distractions as possible.  Only allow yourself for one month to listen to a christian radio station.  Go to church - take that 4 week challenge.  Surround yourself with christian friends, call them, text them, ask them to pray for you.  Only when you allow that one on one time with God can he do wonderful things in your life!  Give your life to the Lord!!!

I made another pennant this year...enjoy!  And if you want to reminisce about fall crafts in the past, click HERE.

Favorite Season

It's official!  My favorite season has arrived...Fall!
I've been busy making cards and home decor centered around the fall theme.  I even made some Halloween cards.  Firstly, I had to squeeze in one last bit of summer with a Pink Lemonade dessert.  Click HERE for the recipe, I omit the red food coloring and use graham cracker crust.  As the picture shows, I obviously make individual servings rather than a pie itself. Regardless, it was a big hit!

And here are a couple of the Halloween cards I made.  Which one is your favorite?

Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!
The name itself appears to be an oxymoron...as most people have Labor Day off and are not laboring/working.
HERE is the history behind Labor Day.

My previous post shared a Fall card.  The below card is where I was inspired.  This is Annette's card.  Isn't it cute?!  I especially love the background with the colors and layering of different stamps giving it that rustic feel:

This is the most recent Paper Pumpkin.  It created 6 cards and 3 boxes.  I was surprised that this was the theme they chose with these colors and as much as I liked the concept and products, I had hoped for more fall colors.  This would have been a good project for May (closer to weddings, etc.)
Regardless, they were cute!

Catch up

My son recently celebrated his 16th birthday and I wanted to give him something special to remember the day...He and his father went parasailing!  They said it was wonderful!  Here is a photo of their excursion as well as what Olivia and I watched as we awaited their return:

Kent and I had a date day (while the kids were at camp) and went to visit downtown Pensacola.  We ate lunch at a restaurant where our view was the water.  Here is some history about the town. There was also a building that was quite old and reminded me of England:

Annette and I crafted recently and here is a card I promised as well as a photo of our mess (it was wonderful!)

Do you like purses?  Are you obsessed?  Check back soon to see what I've been doing with them..I'm trying to catch up with my photos!  Thanks for your patience!
